Your move

We will be happy to give you an estimate over the phone. For properties larger than 2 bedrooms or those moving further afield, we will arrange a survey followed by a no obligation quote.

All our rates are quoted hourly. Based on your requirements, we will provide you with an estimate of hours and tailor make the quote to your specific needs.

We always try to accommodate short notice bookings but ideally we would normally require 10 days to 2 weeks notice.

Traditionally the last Friday of every month is the busiest moving date in the removals calendar. Timing is also important – generally if you are completing your move and awaiting keys for the new house you don't want to start too early and find you have waiting time but you do want to be out your old property in time for the new owners arriving to move their furniture in.

We will calculate the length of your job and advise start times for your move accordingly.

We wrap and protect all your furniture in advance of loading. Wooden pieces are protected with blankets and card and antiques or special pieces are export wrapped in white bubble wrap. Mattresses and sofas are placed in protective covers. Pictures and mirrors are protected with foam corners and white bubble wrap.

Our men always arrive prepared with a toolkit and will be happy to dismantle and reassemble those items of furniture too large to move.

Sometimes furniture needs to be moved in and out via the window [See the video here] if the staircases or doorways are too narrow. We can arrange this but where possible would like advance notice.

Piano Moves

Piano moves with stairs usually require 3 men and this can be arranged – once again, with advance notice. See the movie below.

Yellow lines or residents parking outside your property will require dispensation for us to park. Some councils require 2 weeks notice prior to your move, others only one and there is normally a charge for this service. We will put you in contact with the relevant organisations and assist where possible.

Recent FSA regulations have changed the way removal companies handle insurance when you move house. You may have received alternative quotations, which include the offer to arrange insurance on your goods during relocation. We have chosen not to sell insurance, and are able to offer you a greater commitment.

Removers who offer to sell you insurance must be regulated to do so, and they have to channel some of their resources into being compliant with the rules of regulation, which can dilute the service you get from your house move.

They normally accept very limited liability under their contract. Rather than accept responsibility themselves, they prefer to sell you insurance. Frequently, the insurance that they offer is subject to an excess, which means typically that YOU pay the first £25 or £50 of any claim. We do things differently – WE ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY UNDER OUR CONTRACT at no additional cost to you.
